The Windup and the Pitch
Chapter 43 didn’t play fair—but God stayed faithful.
This chapter asked me to release what was familiar before I could fully see what was next. It stretched my faith, challenged my plans, and required me to keep moving even when the path looked nothing like the one I had carefully imagined.
There were prayers I whispered through clenched teeth that God answered in real time.
A home in Atlanta that felt like peace.
Provision for my son that felt like legacy.
A career opportunity that reminded me not to accept the limits other people placed over my life.
Sacred stillness while serving in a garden that reminded me: I am held.
None of those answered prayers arrived without change. Moving to a new city meant leaving behind routines, relationships, and places that had helped shape me. Beginning again required more than packing boxes it required trusting that God could meet me somewhere unfamiliar.
Atlanta represented possibility, but possibility can still feel lonely.
There were moments when I missed home deeply. Moments when I questioned whether I had moved too quickly, expected too much, or misunderstood the assignment. Yet there were also moments when I walked through the city and felt something awakening inside me. I was exploring, serving, stretching, and discovering pieces of myself that had been waiting for room to breathe.
Chapter 43 taught me that an answered prayer does not always arrive wrapped in ease. Sometimes the answer is a doorway—and faith is required to walk through it.
I learned that favor doesn’t need fanfare.
That peace isn’t always loud.
That walking away can be holy.
That healing sometimes looks like not replying.
That beginning again does not mean the years before it were wasted.
Every experience had been part of my windup. Every disappointment, delay, detour, and difficult decision was preparing me to step forward with greater clarity. Even the seasons that felt like they were pulling me backward were building momentum for the pitch.
As I prepare to close Chapter 43, I can acknowledge that it was both painful and productive. It challenged what I believed about security, success, love, home, and myself. It made me examine what I was carrying—and whether everything I had worked so hard to hold still belonged in the next chapter.
I am not entering 44 with every answer.
I am entering with evidence.
Evidence that God will provide.
Evidence that I can begin again.
Evidence that peace can find me in unfamiliar places.
Evidence that the curves in my story have not prevented me from moving forward. They have taught me how to adjust my stance.
Now, with gratitude in my gut and fire in my feet, I step up to the plate of 44.
My Hank Aaron Year. ⚾
The swing year.
The Peach Power year. 🍑
The year I stop shrinking to fit inside spaces I have already outgrown.
The year I honor how far I have come without pretending the journey was easy.
The year I move with joy, authority, and divine precision.
Chapter 43 was the windup. Chapter 44 is the pitch—and I am ready to swing.
I don’t come to prove.
I came to become.
And I came swinging.
